Philadelphia, the City of Brotherly Love, has a long history of embracing diverse cultures and celebrating the strength that comes from unity. Our communities are filled with compassionate individuals, organizations, and resources committed to assisting you in your resettlement journey. The PDPH Immunization Program would like to extend our heartfelt greetings to the resilient Ukrainian Community seeking refuge in our city.
Today, the Immunization Program would like to announce our Ukrainian resettlement vaccination program Phila Vax(U)Kraine
The Philadelphia Department of Public Health Immunization Program has received funding from the federal government to provide these four vaccinations to Ukrainian Refugees who have relocated to the City of Philadelphia:
Polio: a highly infectious disease that affects the nervous system, leading to paralysis and potentially lifelong disability in severe cases.
COVID19: a highly contagious respiratory illness that can result in a range of symptoms from mild to severe and has led to a global pandemic since its emergence in late 2019.
Flu: a contagious respiratory illness caused by influenza viruses can cause symptoms such as fever, cough, body aches, and fatigue and circulate seasonally.
Measles, Mumps, and Rubella (MMR): a combination vaccine that protects against measles, mumps, and rubella, helping prevent these viral infections and their associated complications.
TDAP: The Tdap vaccine is a combination vaccine that protects against tetanus, diphtheria, and pertussis, is typically administered to adolescents, with a booster recommended every ten years, and is also given during each pregnancy to protect the newborn.
We are here to vaccinate U (yes YOU!) for FREE!
The vaccinations supplied by Phila Vax(U)kraine have already been purchased and paid for by the federal government so that we can offer this service for FREE to adults who meet vaccination requirements.
